Indirect heat. No direct competition.

Unlike many other recycling processes, flame does not touch the aggregate inside the drum of the Bagela Asphalt Recycler – the patented heating process is entirely convection, with virtually no petroleum burn-off like other asphalt recycler designs. It’s the greenest recycling approach in the industry.

Our process? Ridiculously simple: existing RAP, chunks, millings or leftover plant mix are loaded into the drum by raising the hydraulic hopper. Once in the drum, the material travels through a series of paddles and flights, breaking down to its original coated aggregate form – fresh, viable, 330-degree hot-mix asphalt.

The operator then reverses the drum, opens the discharge gate, and releases one ton of recycled hot mix every 6 minutes. Until you see it in-person, you may not believe it.

Take the sunglass test.

Watch the Bagela Asphalt Recyclers in action and you’ll notice they emit what appears to be emissions. We said “appears” because what you’re seeing is steam. We don’t need to include additives to our recycling process – sheer heat is what makes our system so effective, efficient and environmentally friendly. Our process emits steam only.

How can you be sure? Take a pair of sunglasses and hold them in the vapor cloud that comes from our machines. If it contained pollutants or petroleum-based residue, wouldn’t you see an oily film on your sunglasses? You bet you would. But you won’t, because our process is so green and clean!.

Serious cost savings. The gritty truth.

If you’re purchasing asphalt tonnage the way you always have, congratulations – you’re paying FOUR TIMES more than necessary. Bagela Asphalt Recyclers are changing the way asphalt is recycled and purchased – one pothole and parking lot at a time.

Let’s talk ROI. Below is just one example of how municipalities and contractors can save serious money by considering the Pavement Recyclers approach to infrastructure care and maintenance.

Repairing infrastructure. Destroying myths.

On a regular basis, using live demos and indisputable facts and figures, we shatter the negative perceptions about recycled asphalt. Here are just a few…

“It doesn’t last.”

Probably the most common myth about recycled. Fact is, since our recycling process breaks material down to its original aggregate state, it lasts every bit as long (often longer) than “plant” mix for pothole repairs, utility cuts, bridge work, parking lots, you name it.

“Recycled is lower grade, it’s not good enough.”

Let’s be honest – recycled isn’t brand new. Any more than a recycled plastic bottle is a brand new plastic bottle. Reality check: the quality difference between our recycled hot mix and brand new plant mix is never great enough to justify paying FOUR TIMES more for it! Not for the applications our hot mix is ideal for. And not when every contractor and municipality in this country is budget-sensitive like never before.
